William D. Dratz interview, 1984 June 28.

Dratz discusses smokejumping from 1946 to 1949, the type of people who were smokejumpers, the procedures, the 1949 Washington, D.C., jump publicizing the Smokey the Bear program, and the Mann Gulch fire. He is somewhat skeptical about some of the policies and practices used recently as compared to the 1940s.
